General information

Lifeguards on duty from 23 June to 2 September from 11am until 7pm.

Portrush West Strand, also known as Mill Strand, is a sheltered urban beach on the western edge of the resort, immediately south of the picturesque harbour.

The entire length of the beautiful sandy beach is flanked along its eastern boundary by a well-used promenade, restricted for pedestrian and cycle use.

The beach affords beautiful panoramic views towards Portstewart and beyond to Donegal's Inishowen penninsula.

The Causeway Coast Way/Ulster Way walking route passes adjacent to the beach and it is also a favourite spot for surfers and bodyboarders all year round.
