East Strand, also known as Curran Strand, forms a 3km long continuous stretch of golden sand connecting Portrush and Whiterocks.

The western end of this beautiful sandy beach is flanked along its southern boundary by a well-used promenade, restricted for pedestrian and cycle use.

The remainder of the beach is backed by extensive sand dunes forming part of the world famous Royal Portrush Links Golf Course.

The beach affords beautiful panoramic views of the Skerries and the Causeway headlands.

The Causeway Coast Way/Ulster Way passes along the beach which is also a favourite spot for surfers, body boarders, walkers and horse riders.
