The Head of Operations will manage the operations of Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful’s three strategic themes of Climate Action, Biodiversity Recovery and Waste and Pollution Solutions and the education, engagement, certifications, and local environmental quality portfolios. The post-holder will additionally support the communications and business development functions to successfully grow the organisation’s programmes to a scale that enables significant pro-environmental behaviour change. Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is currently piloting a four day working week, on full salary.
Environmental Hub Project Manager

Contract Potential to March 2025, subject to funding
The Environmental Hub Project Manager will lead on the development of a ‘one stop’ hub for environmental education and action in NI, a key recommendation identified in the Strategy & Action Plan. The Environmental Action for Resilience, Transformation & Health (EARTH) Hub will be a new and dedicated online platform for organisations delivering, and seeking to provide opportunities for environmental education, environmental action, and skills development to various sectors of society. The Hub will have a multi-sectoral reach and impact, enabling more collaborative working and connectedness on environmental these activities across Northern Ireland. As this is a collaborative project, with sectoral wide reach and impact, the Environmental Hub Project Manager will be expected to work closely with the ESDF Officer, employed by NIEL. Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is currently piloting a four day working week, on full salary.
Field/Outreach Officer (Multiple roles, start date flexible)

Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful’s Field Officers (FO) play a key role in achieving this; the roles span the breadth of our programmes and certifications, with no two days the same. The FOs work with and support a range of stakeholders, from teachers and community leaders, to national beach operators. Engaging them in positive environmental behaviour. The role will involve workshops, training and programme delivery into settings, such as, schools, youth and community groups, and will involve undertaking environmental assessments and surveys in a range of locations including beaches, streets, schools, parks and businesses. Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is currently piloting a four day working week, on full salary.
Eco-Communities Project Manager

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding dynamic individual to enthusiastically drive the development of this exciting new initiative. We have secured funding to scope out and pilot a new way of managing and coordinating environmental projects in Northern Ireland. It will build consensus and synergies with local groups and organisations, supporting growth of stronger community cohesion, developing resilience and self-efficacy in communities. This new programme will help prepare communities to mitigate and adapt to local and global environmental issues. Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is currently piloting a four day week, on full salary.
Eco-Communities Project Officer

Salary £23,000 (to be reviewed upon successful completion of 6 month probation period)

This person will work with and support a range of stakeholders, from teachers and community leaders, to local government and other environmental NGOs, engaging them in piloting a new environmental programme, Eco-Communities. The role will involve assisting the project manager in consultations and workshops to better understand the environmental support needs of communities. Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is currently piloting a four day week, on full salary.
Environmental Leadership and Awards Programme Manager

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic individual to enthusiastically drive the development of this exciting new initiative. We have secured funding to pilot a Northern Ireland version of the international 30 Under 30 programme operated by the North American Association for Environmental Education. This new programme will prepare young people, early in their careers, to make more informed decisions that will positively affect our local environment.
Local Environmental Quality Coordinator
Location Home based/Field/Belfast office
Hours per week: 37.5
Salary : £26,000
Contract: Permanent, subject to funding
The Local Environmental Quality (LEQ)
Co-ordinator will work to support Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful’s aims, set
out in our 2020-25 Strategic Plan, by coordinating and project managing a range
of local environmental quality and certifications programmes within the LEQ department. The post-holder will work
to implement efficient processes, from the planning through to the reporting
stages of LEQ work streams. The post-holder will work closely with the LEQ
Manager, ensuring the effective delivery of a range of functions for the
department whilst also developing collaboration opportunities across the suite
of Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful work streams. They will be responsible for
supervision of Officers within the department, ensuring all agreed deliverables
are completed effectively on time. Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful is currently piloting a four day week, on full salary.
